  • Pretreatment, Enzymatic Hydrolysis and Fermentation Conversion

Pretreatment of biomass raw materials can effectively break its original microscopic three-dimensional structure, thereby exposing the digestible cellulose and hemicellulose to facilitate subsequent processes. The exposed cellulose and hemicellulose are decomposed by polysaccharides into monosaccharides and oligosaccharides that can be utilized by microorganisms under the action of enzymes. Subsequently, through fermentation engineering, engineering microorganisms (such as yeast, Escherichia coli and other microorganisms) are used to utilize the sugar-based platform compounds, thereby converting them into biofuels such as methanol or ethanol, and other high-value compounds.
