Detergent Enzyme

Detergent enzymes are biological catalysts that enhance the cleaning power of detergents by breaking down specific types of stains and residues. Enzymes are a key component in biological detergents used for cleaning laundry and dishware. Beyond their superior cleaning capabilities, enzymes contribute to sustainability and energy savings by functioning effectively at lower temperatures, thereby reducing the need for heated water.

Typically, detergents are formulated with a combination of two or more enzymes, and some products contain up to eight different enzymes in a single blend. These enzyme mixtures are designed to withstand the various ingredients in detergents, such as surfactants, builders, bleaching agents, and alkaline salts. Multi-enzyme formulations have even managed to replace up to 25% of traditional surfactants in laundry detergents without compromising cleaning efficiency.
