Overview

Summary A protease blend is made up of both endo- and exo-peptidase. They can improve tobacco sensory perception by hydrolyzing the protein into smaller peptides and amino acids to increase amino nigtrogen.
Description The enzyme blend is a mixture of endo- and exo-peptidase that work together on proteins in tobacco leaves under natural condition to get rid of irritating flavor and taste. Either of the proteases is produced by microbial fermentation and purification and normally used in other food applications.

Application Recommendation The recommended dosage is 50-300 g enzyme preparation per ton of raw materials. Desired amount of the product is weighed and dissolved in appropriate amount of water and applied evenly onto tobacco leaves or intermediate products. The mixture is kept preferably in a constant temperature and humidity chamber. The dosage has to be optimized based on each application, the raw material specifications, product expectation and processing parameters. It is better to begin the test with the convenient volume.
