Mannan, a polysaccharide found abundantly in botanical feed sources such as palm kernel meal, soybean meal, and sesame meal, can increase digesta viscosity and impact nutrient digestion and absorption. β-Mannanase is a hemicellulose hydrolase that breaks down β-1,4-glycosidic bonds, effectively degrading β-mannan, galactomannan, and glucomannan into mannan oligosaccharides and mannose.
