Overview

Summary The enzyme catalyzes, in a reversible manner, the terminal phosphate exchange between different nucleoside diphosphates (NDPs) and triphosphates (NTPs) to generate nucleoside triphosphates.
Description Nucleoside Diphosphate Kinase is produced by submerged fermentation followed by separation, ultrafiltration and formulation. The enzyme catalyzes the transfer of a phosphate group between adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and nucleoside diphosphate (NDP) to maintain the NTP concentration in the cells of organisms.
Mechanism Nucleoside diphosphate kinase is an enzyme that catalyzes, in a reversible manner, the terminal phosphate exchange between different nucleoside diphosphates (NDPs) and triphosphates (NTPs) to generate nucleoside triphosphates. Many NDPs serve as acceptors, while NTP serves as the donor of the phosphate group. The general reaction via a ping-pong mechanism is as follows: XDP + YTP ←→ XTP + YDP (where X and Y represent different nitrogenous bases). Nucleoside diphosphate kinase maintains the balance between different nucleoside triphosphate levels, for example, when guanosine triphosphate (GTP) generated in the citric acid cycle is converted to adenosine triphosphate (ATP).
Advantages Catalyze the terminal phosphate exchange between different nucleoside diphosphates; maintain the NTP concentration in the cells of organisms.
Application For NTP generation
Application Area Food
Biosynthesis
Application Recommendation The recommended dosage is 0.1-1 kg/T of raw material. The dosage has to be optimized based on real situation, the raw material specifications, product expectations and processing parameters. It is better to begin the test with the smallest quantity.
