Overview

Summary The enzyme belongs to the nitrile hydratase superfamily and is an enzyme that converts nitrile compounds into the corresponding carboxylic acids for fine chemicals and drugs.
Description Nitrilase is produced through submerged fermentation, followed by separation, ultrafiltration, and formulation processes. As a member of the nitrilase superfamily, this enzyme catalyzes the conversion of nitrile compounds into their corresponding carboxylic acids. Its application benefits include mild reaction conditions, environmental sustainability, and a high degree of substrate specificity. Consequently, nitrilase is extensively utilized in the biocatalytic synthesis of fine chemicals, food additives, and pharmaceutical intermediates.
Field of Application:
Niacin (Vitamin B3) is one of the 13 essential vitamins for human body. It provides a carbon skeleton for dehydrogenase coenzymes (NAD+, NADP+) in the human body, which play an important role in various oxidation-reduction reactions. The human body can only synthesize small amounts of niacin from tyrosine, while the rest needs to be supplemented through diet and medical supplements. Additionally, in the pharmaceutical industry, niacin is an important intermediate used in the production of vitamin drugs. However, the traditional chemical hydrolysis method for synthesizing niacin requires strict reaction conditions with low yield, high energy consumption, and production costs. With the increasing demand for niacin, the biosynthesis of niacin using nitrile hydratase as a relatively green and environmentally friendly synthesis method is gaining more attention.

Application Recommendation The recommended dosage is 0.1-1 kg/T of raw material. The dosage has to be optimized based on real situation, the raw material specifications, product expectations and processing parameters. It is better to begin the test with the smallest quantity.
