Description Di-4-ANEPPDHQ is a dye that rapidly responds to changes in membrane potential. It is not inherently fluorescent and fluoresces only when bound to the cell membrane. It is fast enough to detect membrane potential changes in transient (millisecond) excitable cells. The fluorescence of Di-4-ANEPPDHQ changes uniformly in a variety of tissues, cells, and cell membrane models, typically showing a 10 % change in fluorescence per 100 mV change.
