Overview

Introduction BC-005 is a biological agent developed for the removal of sulfide in sewage treatment systems. It is composed of microbial strains, enzyme preparations, and nutrients in a professional ratio. It is mainly used for the removal of sulfide under anaerobic and anoxic conditions. BC-005 can not only be used to remove sulfide in the anaerobic and anoxic process sections of sewage treatment systems, but can also be used for odor control in sludge yards, composting, etc., as well as soil remediation.
Usage Usually, when the sewage treatment system starts using BC-005, it is added to the water inlet of the anoxic process section at a dosage of 3ppm (based on the amount of water treated per day). During the regular maintenance period of the system, the dosage is 0.1ppm (based on the amount of water treated per day). The dosage and frequency of addition are determined according to the specific composition and concentration of sulfides in the system.
Application Scenario Usually under anaerobic conditions, sulfate is used as an electron acceptor by sulfate-reducing bacteria to produce sulfide. C6H12O6+SO42-+H+→CO2+H2O+HS-+microorganisms (sulfate-reducing bacteria)
The large-scale production of sulfide will have the following impacts on the environment:
1. Toxicity: For example, the critical value of H2S toxicity is 10 mg/kg, and the critical value for short-term exposure to H2S is 15 mg/kg. At high concentrations, it can cause death.
2. Corrosiveness: When the gas contains H2S, it causes corrosion to boilers or motors. When the water contains H2S, it corrodes pipes, walls, etc.
3. Odor: When the air contains 0.2 mg/kg of H2S, the smell of rotten eggs can be detected.
4. High oxygen demand: 2 molO2 is required to completely oxidize 1 mol of sulfide to sulfate.
Application BC-005 contains microbial strains selected from nature, which can solve the problem of sulfide removal and can also solve certain separation or deposition of insoluble solids, especially oil and grease.
