Description

Bacillus megaterium is a gram-positive, aerobic bacterium that forms spores with radiation resistance 36 times greater than E. coli. These rod-shaped bacteria, often found in oil, have round ends and occur singly or in short chains, measuring 1.2-1.5 µm by 2.0-4.0 µm. The spores are oval, 1.0-1.2 µm by 1.5-2.0 µm, and located at the center or near the end of the cell.

Benifits

Improves Fertilizer Effectiveness: It solubilizes calcium phosphate, aluminum phosphorus, and iron phosphorus, making these nutrients more available to plants.
Boosts Crop Yield and Quality: It produces proteases, amino acids, and cytokinins that improve cell vitality, accelerate metabolism, and enhance fruit growth and taste.
Enhances Disease Resistance: It grows around plant roots, secretes chitinase to combat pathogenic bacteria, and supports the development of healthy root systems, increasing plant resilience to diseases, environmental stresses, and issues related to continuous cropping.

Mode Of Action

Bacillus megaterium produces organic acids that dissolve insoluble phosphorus in soil, making it more accessible to plants and improving phosphorus utilization. It rapidly proliferates in soil, outcompeting pathogenic bacteria and enhancing root nutrition. This bacterium also thickens plant cell walls, adds a protective silicon layer, and secretes polysaccharides that improve soil structure and quality. Spraying it on crops boosts growth, photosynthesis, carbohydrate content, and overall crop quality.

Dosage

Organic Fertilizer Fermentation: Use 300-500 g of Bacillus megaterium per ton of organic fertilizer. Combining with other microbial products like Bacillus pumilis, Bacillus mucilaginosus, Bacillus subtilis, and Bacillus licheniformis can enhance performance.
Preparing Organic Fertilizer: Blend 1-3 kg of Bacillus megaterium per 667 m² of soil with farmyard manure, chemical fertilizer, or fine soil for bottom application or dressing. For transplanting crops, use hole or furrow application. If using a machine, blend with chemical fertilizer and apply directly to soil or mix with water for spraying.
Seedbed Application: Mix 30-50 g of Bacillus megaterium with the soil in one seedbed (24 m x 1.8 m).
Pot Flower Application: Use 1-3 g of Bacillus megaterium per kg of pot soil.
