Bacillus licheniformis is a gram-positive, rod-shaped bacterium with a size of 0.8 µm by 1.5-3.5 µm. It has oval spores located near the center and slightly expanded sporocysts. On bouillon culture medium, the bacterial colonies are flat, irregularly edged, white, and rough with a folded surface, measuring about 3 mm in diameter after 24 hours.
